David W Marks QC, Tax Barrister, Brisbane

I am a commercial silk, first and foremost. I litigate commercial
matters. I provide advice in commercial matters.

Principally, I practice tax and revenue law. I also have a general
Chancery practice. I appear in commercial and administrative
law disputes.

This involves everything from commercial contracts to
professional negligence - & from company disputes, to reviewing
tax posture of large corporations.

I also appear in private client matters, about trusts and estates.

I have increasingly been involved in professional conduct
matters, principally as a member of STEP's
disciplinary panel.

My chambers are in Brisbane, Australia. I accept instructions to
appear in any Australian jurisdiction.

From 1990, I worked in tax for 10 years, with a large solicitors'
firm. I was called to the private Bar in 2000, and took silk in 2015.

I accept instructions from lawyers.

Also, I accept instructions for opinion briefs from accountants
who are members of the major professional associations.

I do not accept direct instructions from the general public. Your
solicitor or other professional adviser can help you decide
whether you need a barrister. They will then instruct me or
another barrister, as needed.

Call to enquire about my rates, as rates are subject to change
from time to time. I meet the market, and am open in my
discussion of the value proposition for the client at each stage of
a matter.

I require a junior for appearance matters. For advice matters it is
often economical to engage a junior with me, for timely provision
of advice. As no two matters are alike, please call to discuss.
