David W Marks KC
Tax Barrister – Brisbane
Principally, I practice tax and revenue law. I also have a general Chancery practice. I appear in commercial and administrative law disputes. My chambers are in Brisbane, Australia.
From 1990, I worked in tax for 10 years, with a large solicitors’ firm. I was called to the private Bar in 2000, and took silk in 2015.
How I work
I accept instructions from lawyers.
Also, I accept instructions for opinion briefs from accountants only through an Australian solicitor who is instructed to provide the service. This change is due to the AML/CTF laws, which have changed the way barristers accept briefs in advice matters.
I do not accept direct instructions from the general public. Your solicitor can help you decide whether you need a barrister. They will then instruct me or another barrister, as needed.
My rates
I require a junior for appearance matters. It is often economical to engage a junior for me, for timely provision of advice. As no two matters are alike, call to discuss.
